I wish I could have made the meeting if only to see John's completed ships.

The first one was the Ting Pien class gunboat of 1935.  It some ways it looks like a modern gunboat.  Nicely done and photographed!

  

The second model was the Imperial Chinese Navy Torpedo Cruiser, Kuang Yi.  Not so modern looking but an interesting hull shape.

I understand there was a spirited discussion about Windows 10.  Sorry to hear you're having problems but if you want no sympathy at all I can give you the number of our IS guy.  He's not a big fan either. Microsoft is taking a lot of heat for their stance on this release and support of their previous products.  All I can say is I'm happy with my MAC.  :-)
