Greetings,
It's meeting time again! As normal we will meet at Rockler Woodworking, 2553 S. Colorado Blvd. #20, Aurora, Colorado at 10:00 AM.
This meeting we will be continuing the conversation on rigging. I received some larger straightened and annealed tungsten wire in my never ending quest to find rigging that has a natural sag to it. Is this the answer?
I'm also going to share with you a product called Wonder Wire which is a ceramic wire. I learned about this from the model airplane community but learned that a few are using it to rig ships. I've played with this stuff and it's pretty amazing!
If there's any other rigging material you would like to bring and discuss please do so.
Assuming nothing goes wrong I'll be brining my annual Easter egg model entry. I have both an F4U-1 and IJN Akagi builds this year. I know it's disturbing but it's a fun distraction. The Akagi comes with a wood flight deck and complete photo etch update set which is over the top.
We're also going to talk about our shirt order. I received a note that they have to make a few minor changes but will send me a sample before they start production. I hope that we'll have our shirts for the April meeting.
Finally let's follow up on our Pearl Harbor anniversary builds. I'm interested to hear what you're going to build.
I look forward to seeing you Saturday. As always bring anything you're working on that you can share. If you got any new toys or tools please bring those to share as well.
Dave
