Somehow I managed to delete my post.  Let's try this again!

Sorry I missed this one!  I got some nice feedback from several of you so I hope I get this right.

The meeting started off with a presentation of steamboat Arabia by Roger and Jerry.  It's really something to see in person.  Now they've found another steamboat called the Malta which they hope was loaded with goods to be traded with Native Americans.  Here's a nice video from the crew looking for this steamboat.  They're taking samples now to find out what's down there.

Hopefully they find the evidence they need to start work.  amazing what's hiding under our feet.

Brian Hatak brought in his 1/350 USS Missouri that he's working on.  Looking forward to seeing this one come together.  Brian also shared the name plate he had made for this project.  If I understand correctly his friend will help anyone out with other name plates.

Max discussed his method for strengthening the hull of his model using steel plate and brass rod so that it doesn't warp.  This can certainly be a challenge with a waterline hull kit.  Nice tip Max!

John Widmar never fails to surprise us with some of the great little kits he finds.  These are some 1/700 resin kits of IJN sub chasers from AKA MOD resin models.  These look like some little gems and I can't wait to see them come together.  John found them from an eBay seller called Global Toy.  Here's a link to one of these kits on that site.

I believe John also brought this set of photo etch from Artist Hobby of 1/700 IJN ship names.

Then John DuGene shared his Flashback models 1/48 Hansa Brandenburg W.29.  John dressed up his model with some aftermarket parts from Gas Patch Models which include a Parabellum tail gun and anemometer on the left wing.  Little additions like these can really enhance a model and create focal points.  Nice work John!

Martin is organizing some information about IPMS membership.  There are lots of advantages to being an IPMS member, not the least is a 10% discount at Colpar Hobbies when you present your card.  As soon as Martin sends the information I will get it posted.

I understand Hugh brought back his 80,000 ship images!  I believe Blake is working on these to see if we can make them available to others and create a backup for Hugh.  Thank you for sharing Hugh!  That's a lifetime collection of images!

Nice meeting everyone!  I look forward to seeing you guys next time  Hopefully I can get some of these projects I'm working on done!
Dave
