Steamboat Arabia
For this along, this is a must attend meeting.  Roger and Jerry are going to give a presentation on the Steamship Arabia and the museum in Kansas City.  If you haven't been there before you'll want to go after this.  Maybe I can talk Jerry into taping it for me with his new GoPro!  😎

The story of the Arabia and the search to find her is remarkable.  That's all I'm going to tell you.  Thanks to Roger and Jerry for putting this presentation together!

The tape is in!
I'm leaving it with Jerry to pass out and collect funds.  Here's a recap of what everyone ordered.

This stuff is listed on eBay for $4.00 to $6.00 a roll.  We came in at just under $1.40 per roll.  If you don't mind we'll just leave it there.  Here's a breakdown of what everyone owes.  Cash or check is fine.  Try to bring exact change so Jerry doesn't have to worry about it.

Sam:  $8.40
John Widmar:  $16.80
Martin:  $8.40
Victor:  $8.40
John DuGene:  $16.80
Daniele:  $2.80
Brian Hatak:  $16.80

I have a few extras in everything except .7mm.  If you are interested let me know.

Club Project
Hugh had an excellent suggestion.  A discussion on what we have to do to correct the imperfections from the manufacturers.  I believe Hugh and Roger are going to tackle the Trumpeter USS Maryland in 1/700 scale.  It has some well publicized issues.  Hugh and Roger will be talking about the research to find the issues with the kit and what they do to make the corrections.

I think it would be a good idea for everyone to discuss when you bring your new kits, works in progress, and completed models in to share.

This is an ongoing project and no timeline associated.

Interesting and Free Newsletter
Hugh share this site with me.  The name of the group is Escort, Small Warship Special Interest Group.  Their members write articles which include history, kits and reviews, new and old.  They are based in England but have members worldwide.  Here's a link to their site.

If you write them an email they will send you free their quarterly publication.  You can also look through their archive list and if there's a past issue you're interested in, send them an email and it will come back to you free of charge.  I'm going to add them to our favorites list!

As per usual, if you have something to share, something to sell, or have a project that's challenging you.  Bring it in and we'll work on it together.

Have a great meeting and I hope to see you all in April.
Dave
